Note Haven

Morning notes before the block wakes up.

Note Haven is my small shelf of morning notes from a Sembawang Crescent flat — walks, coffee shops, corridor details, the park connector after rain, and once a night near Chin Swee Road I still carry carefully. Nothing here is for sale; there is no app or newsletter behind the name.

The gatefold opens like a magazine spread: headline on one side, photograph on the other, then a list of folds you can read in any order. The Chin Swee note lives at the root address because that is where I want it, not because it wears a badge. Every row below uses the same type and spacing — I dislike hero treatment for one piece when the rest deserve equal care.

If you are new, start anywhere: the bus that arrives before you do, the cat on the ledge, the afternoon repainting the corridor railing. For the full shelf, browse the index cards grouped by where I was standing. The byline explains what I leave out; Bell Pull has contact details if you need them.

I built this site by hand on a moss-paper palette because it matches the flat on overcast mornings — forest ink, quiet gutters, photographs sitting inside the margins rather than shouting over the text. Each page carries one map anchored to Sembawang so you always know where these notes come from geographically, even when the story wanders to Chin Swee or Admiralty.

The photographs are real editorial choices — wet roads, corridor railings, kitchen tables — chosen to sit beside the prose rather than replace it. I hope the whole thing reads like a neighbour leaving the door ajar, not like a brand asking for your attention.
